US Securities and Exchanges Regulator Calls On EAX in Kigali
The Commissioner of the US Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. Michael Piwowar visited the East Africa Exchange (EAX based in Kigali on Friday 19th February 2016. This visit was part of the initiative to support the development of Capital Markets in Rwanda. The SEC Commissioner was accompanied by Staci Warden, the Chairperson of the Rwanda Capital Market Authority (CMA) and Robert Mathu, the Executive Director of the Rwanda CMA. During the visit, the SEC Commissioner was briefed on EAX operations in Rwanda and in the East Africa Community region, the Exchange achievements so far and its work with the Rwanda CMA. The Commissioner was also introduced to the EAX Nasdaq top of the range electronic trading platform.
